This is a guidebook to keep within arm's reach. From "Questions to Ask a Recycler", and "Evaluating a Carbon Offset Provider", to step-by-step planning for "Green Press Events", you'll find the nitty-gritty you need to quickly make strides in greening your nonprofit's work.
Any book has to choose a focus - philosophy or how-to, for example. And this one is the go-to for how-to. It is so complete that it took three editors and over 30 authors to provide all the information here. It was written under the auspices of GreenNonprofits.Org to give the nonprofit sector "practical advice it that will lead to concrete action...that will positively affect the environment. Just as corporations and individuals must, the nonprofit sector must take its place in the green movement.
For those of you just starting out, the "Nonprofit Office Audit" chapter may be the most helpful. For those with more mileage, it may be time to read "Creating Your Green Marking and Communications Plan".
I can't cover the 400+ pages here, but here is a chapter listing. As soon as you're done reading this list, go ahead and get two copies - one for your desk and one to share with colleagues. It's a great investment.
